Secret Dallas

How do you get the most out of your time in Dallas? Why not ask a Dallasite what to see and do? There is always something happening in Dallas to suit everybody's tastes, the most difficult part is finding everything as sadly some of the best local attractions and popular activities aren't highly publicized to visitors.

To help you find some of Dallas' best kept secrets we've asked our team of Dallas natives to recommend their favorite places to visit in Dallas.

Top Hidden Dallas Attractions

Here's a list of the suggestions from the DallasCarRental.net team:

Zero Gravity Thrill Amusement Park
For those of you who are searching for an adrenaline rush, the Zero Gravity Thrill Amusement Park is an attraction you don't want to miss. Even though the name suggests some mild thrills, things are more intense than they sound. At this park there are 5 different rides which offer experiences of up to 4Gs. This means that your body will weigh 4 times more than it normally would. You'll also experience what it feels like to go from 0 to 70 mph in just 1.3 seconds. Make sure you've got enough money with you because the rides will get you addicted; or sick.

Dallas World Aquarium
This impressive attraction was officially opened in 1992, but since then it has benefitted from many improvements, offering a better experience to visitors. At this aquarium fish and sharks are not the only animals you can admire. You'll get the chance to participate in a tour where you'll see amazing exotic birds, big reptiles, crocodiles, crabs, jellyfishes, eagles and amphibians. A member of staff will always be ready to give you information about any of the animals in the aquarium. The price for an adult is somewhere around $25 for the full tour. The aquarium is open daily between 9am and 5pm.

TopGolf Dallas
It's good to do a bit of exercise every day, and TopGolf takes care of that for you. It is a revolutionary sport which combines golf with darts. Every golf ball contains a microchip and in front of you there will be a number of targets which look like dart boards. The object of the game is to hit the dart board as close to the center as possible. The further the dart board is placed and the closer you hit to the center, the more points you earn. Points are automatically generated when the golf ball hits the dart board. It is an odd yet fun sport, especially if you play it with some friends.

Fountain Place
This attraction might prove to be useful to you, especially if you want to impress your partner. Fountain Place is an area in Dallas where no less than 172 small fountains keep flowing non-stop. This show is impressive during the day but wait to see how impressive it gets at night. A series of lights illuminate the fountains after the sun sets, offering a truly amazing experience. It is the perfect place to walk with your partner or with your family because the sound of the water is all that can be heard in the evening. It is a very relaxing experience and I strongly recommend you visit these fountains.

Texas Museum of Automotive History
This attraction is maybe more suitable for men but every car enthusiast will have a good time at the Texas Museum of Automotive History. The museum was opened in 2010 and it is home to about 100 classic cars. The total value of the cars is estimated at $3 million. Don't expect to see modern cars there because this is a museum which presents the automotive history; instead expect to see cars dating from 1900s and even from late 1800s. If you're lucky enough you might even have the chance to sit in a few of the cars in the museum. The price for an adult is about $5.
