A wonderful way to relax after a hard day of exploring the city is by visiting the Dallas Arboretum. This is essentially a large piece of land with many gardens and fountains, in fact there's about 66 acres to explore. There's also a venue in the middle of the Arboretum where concerts and other performances take place. Besides the fountains you should also check out the lake because an impressive number of birds and plants can be admired from the lake's shore. This attraction dates from 1940 but many improvements have been made since then. The Arboretum is open everyday between 9am and 5pm and the price for an adult is approximately $13.
Perot Museum of Nature and Science
If you're passionate about biology or geology then you should definitely visit this museum. Dallas Zoo
The Dallas Zoo has an interesting history. It was established in 1888 when the local authorities bought 4 animals from a private seller. From only 4 animals to more than 2000 in 130 years is quite a difference. Tigers, giraffes, cheetahs, lions, bears, crocodiles, black widow spiders, penguins - these are only a few of the animals you can have an encounter with at this massive zoo. You can visit the zoo daily between 9am and 5pm. The price of a ticket for an adult is about $15 but be aware that you'll have to pay more if you decide to come with your car and use their parking garage.
